Hey, I was with that famed unit in 101 as senior scout and I was always out. I dont know where you get your facts from but your wrong. Your a Fobbit who talks about Soldiers “going out”. Your shit balloon flew away

    • Everything on these pages is factual, or opinion, and you’re right, I was a Fobbit, if a civilian can be one, but we did good work. Lots of us who stayed inside did. It’s a fact that PTDS saved lives. You’re right too about the balloons getting away. I had to help with inflating (replacing) numerous balloons in the seventeen months I was in Iraq and Afghanistan. We lost them in wind storms, from lightning strikes, once when a Chinook flew into the tether and, more than once, from enemy fire. They’re about as vulnerable to damage as they seem. Many of us in the program worked incredibly hard to keep the balloons airborne and stay on mission to help men like yourself as much as possible. I was amazed at the bravery and competence men displayed and strove to support them. While I was there the PTDS systems weren’t always utilized as well as they could have been but that’s true for many things in the Army, as you know.
